Reviving the Forest

Architect Türkan Dagli envisions a neighbourhood where nature and humanity coexist seamlessly. The primary goal is to breathe life back into “dead” land that has lost its ecological vitality. The project is dedicated to enhancing soil quality and restoring biodiversity primarily through trees, plants and beneficial insects. With greenery omnipresent in the neighbourhood, inhabitants will experience a deep bond with the natural world.

Vegetable Gardens

Nurtured by Türkan Dagli’s passion for growing vegetables, community gardens will be present across the neighbourhood. More than just patches of green, these areas allow residents with green thumbs to come together and foster a sense of community. The result is eco-friendly meals harvested from one's own efforts.

Engineered to Perfection

40 m2 of warmth, serenity, and simplicity. The cabins, primarily constructed of wood, have been designed with space-efficiency in mind. Residents enjoy reduced maintenance and climate comfort. Each cabin promises ample natural light and combines convenience with subtle aesthetic charm.

Ecological and Customisable

Each cabin, while based on a single model design, allows for personalisation, making every tiny house uniquely its owner’s. The deliberate choice to forego concrete foundations and the use of local wooden materials further underscores the project's commitment to the environment.

Multi-Purpose

This flexible space has been designed for a wide range of activities, from co-working to cultural events. The use of the space can evolve over the day. An office space in the morning can transform into a concert venue in the evening.

Connection to the City

While the neighbourhood is a haven of natural serenity, the connection to the city is still important. With provisions for car-sharing and a focus on sustainable transportation, residents will be able to easily bridge the gap between the tranquil forest and the bustling city. Work remotely amidst nature’s embrace, yet remain effortlessly connected to the urban grid.

FAQ

  • Quartier Botanique is planned to be developed in the countryside of Luxembourg, conveniently located within a short drive from Luxembourg City.

Ground One's approach to development is unique: we begin with a visionary architectural concept and a lively community. After that, we seek a suitable plot of land, so we cannot provide a precise location at this stage.

  • The next phases for Quartier Botanique are carefully planned:
we are building a community that identifies with the architect’s vision. This is followed by finding the land and assembling a team of professionals who will execute the project.

  • Ground One is dedicated to developing projects with affordable housing options. Final prices will depend on land costs, so specific pricing is unavailable at this time. However, we aim to offer a basic rent package starting at €1,350 per month.

  • At Ground One, we see each project as a startup. Given the innovative nature of Quartier Botanique, it could face challenges that may lead to delays or even the project never being developed. The length of administrative processes, among other factors, can also affect timelines considerably.

Despite this, we aim to complete Quartier Botanique within the next 1-3 years. Please note that registering interest, even though it's free, does not guarantee the project’s eventual realisation.

  • The community is open to anyone who identifies with the project’s vision. Our members are often nature-loving, remote-working individuals, including entrepreneurs, artists, and creatives.
